Five People To Celebrate

It's time to pop the confetti and celebrate Larry, Eric, Damel, Angel, and Timothy! These five individuals recently graduated from the transitional employment program at Good Soil Industries (GSI), and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments.

Larry, Eric, Damel, Angel, and Timothy all came to GSI with different backgrounds and challenges, but they all shared a common goal: to create a better future for themselves and for those who depend on them. Over the course of the program, they developed job skills, such as time management and teamwork, that will serve them well in any workplace.

But it wasn't just about learning new skills. The program also provided these individuals with a sense of community and belonging. They worked alongside each other, supporting and encouraging one another every step of the way. And our GSI staff, along with our LA Rise and Rio Hondo AJCC partners, went above and beyond to ensure that they had the resources and support they needed to succeed.

Now that they've graduated, they are all settling into their new jobs. They have the skills, the confidence, and the drive to succeed in any workplace. And we have no doubt that they'll go on to do great things.

Congratulations, Larry, Eric, Damel, Angel, and Timothy!

Read below to learn what these five great men are doing now and how you can be praying for them.

Larry was promoted to Assistant Route Manager and now works full-time at Good Soil Industries. Larry was one of the first participants to receive the title of GSI Participant of the Month. You can read about it here.

Eric is hustling and working hard to support his family with two new jobs. He now works at Taco Bell and Firehouse Subs. Eric was our GSI Participant of the Month in September 2022. You can read about it here.

Damel is working at Fashion Nova Warehouse and going to school for construction. He started at GSI in December 2022 and was motivated to graduate the transitional employment program quickly to prepare for the birth of his first child.

Angel is enjoying his new job at BJ’s Restaurant. He was our GSI Participant of the Month in December 2022. You can read about it here.

Timothy got a job at a warehouse, as well as his forklifting license. He is now seeking to become a forklift driver. His employment case manager, George, shared that Timothy is one of the most self-motivated guys that he has ever worked with. He took initiative and looked for jobs on his own. Timothy’s support from his girlfriend and desire to take care of her and her baby encouraged him to finish the transitional employment program in less than three months.

How to pray for our GSI Graduates:

  • Pray that they continue to grow and thrive in their work and that the Lord gives them grace and strength for the hardest aspects of their new jobs.

  • Pray that they are blessed at their new places of work and that they bless others through their work.

  • Pray that they and their families are provided for and that they are a light to those in their communities.
